Tierra Williams Leads Auburn Girls to Title at Thunderbird Invitational

 Auburn senior Tierra Williams led her Lady Bulldogs to the team championship of the Thunderbird Invitational track meet in Tecumseh Tuesday.  The University of Nebraska track recruit set meet records in winning the long jump with a leap of 17 feet, 10.25 inches and the triple jump going 39-09.5.  In addition Williams cruised to easy victories in the 100 and 200 meter races.

Catherine Davison picked up a pair of gold medals for Auburn in the 3200 and 1600.  Maggie Rieschick won gold in both hurdle races for the Lady Bulldogs.  

Morgan Lenners of Freeman won the 800 and her teammate Kylie Trobee won the shot.

Liz Railsback of HTRS won the pole vault and Karlie O’neil of Lourdes Central won the high jump.

Freshman Maggie Goltz had the best day for Sacred Heart with second place finishes in long jump and triple jump.  Elizabeth Magdanz was second in the pole vault. 

In the team standings Auburn was first with 133.3, freeman second with 112, Sacred Heart was fourth with 39.3 points.

Freeman won the boys portion of the meet with 125 points, Sacred Heart was second with 110 and Johnson County Central was 5th with 34 points.

Event winners for the Irish included Lane Barnhill in the 400 and the relay teams were successful winning the 4 x 800 ( Thomas Froeschl, Austin Malone, Henry Arnold, Chaz Dunn);  4 x 100 ( Clay Finck, Yianni Haralabidis, Chaz Dunn and Lane Barnhill)  and the 4 x 400 relay ( Chaz Dunn, Yianni Haralabidis, Clay Finck and Lane Barnhill).

For Freeman Cole Schuster won the 110 meter hurdles, Cameron Connelly won the 3200, Derek Zimmerman won the long jump and triple jump.

Ryan Teten of Johnson County Central won the shot put.  Billy Speckmann of Lewison was the winner in 800 meters.
