Playing with high winds in Sabetha, Kan., the Peru State Bobcat baseball team swept a double header from Manhattan (Kan.) Christian College (MCC) on Monday.

Peru State won the first game 24-4 and came back to take the nightcap 15-8.  With the two wins, the 'Cats improved to 8-7 on the season.

In the first game Aubrey Dezarn (Las Vegas, Nev.) went six for six, including one double, drove in four runs and scored four runs to lead the Bobcat batters. Former Centralia Panther, Patrick Bramhall earned the pitching victory in game one.

The second game was much closer earlier in the contest.  MCC scored one in the first before Peru State added three to take a 3-1 lead after one.  In the top of the second, the Crusaders scored five to regain the lead 6-3, aided by several Bobcat errors.  The 'Cats closed the gap in the bottom of the inning by scoring two, cutting the deficit to 6-5.  In the bottom of the third, Peru State regained the lead for good by adding four runs, taking a 9-6 lead.  MCC scored one in the top of the fourth to make it 9-7.  In the bottom of the fifth, Peru State exploded for six to go on top 15-7.  MCC would add one run in the top of the seventh for the final score of 15-8.

George Palko (Kent, Wash.) went three for four to lead Peru State in hitting.  Palko drove in three and scored four runs with two of his hits being doubles.

On Wednesday, March 20, the 'Cats are scheduled to travel to Springfield, Mo., to face the Crusaders of Evangel University.  The double header with the Crusaders, who are 13-10 overall and 0-2 in the HAAC, is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.

Then, on Saturday, March 23, Peru State will make another long trip, this time to Canton, Mo., to take on the Culver-Stockton College Wildcats in another HAAC double header.  The 9-10, 1-1 Wildcats and the Bobcats will take the field beginning at 1 p.m.

After that stretch, the Bobcats are to be at home for four consecutive double headers on March 26, March 29, March 30, and April 1.  All dates are scheduled to start at 1 p.m. and will be played at the Centennial Complex Field.
