St. Marys Boys Pull Away from Royal Valley in Fourth Quarter

2A #9 ranked St. Marys took care of business on Tuesday night defeating Royal Valley at home in Big East league play 55-38. 

Both teams struggled on offense in the first half with the Bears leading 13-12 after the first quarter and 26-20 at halftime. 

The struggles on offense continued into the second half with the Bears leading the game 35-27 going into the fourth quarter. 

St. Marys (10-4, 4-2) would finally pick things up on offense in the final period outscoring Royal Valley 20-11 to take home the win. 

The Bears got 17 points from Ben DeVader, 12 points from Cole Hurla, and 10 points from Killian McCann. 

Royal Valley (6-8, 0-5) got 14 points and nine rebounds from Landon Gilbert and nine points and six rebounds from Jace Johnson. 

St. Marys went 8-of-10 from the free throw line and hit nine threes while the Panthers hit six threes in the game and finished 4-of-8 from the free throw line.
