The Sabetha boys basketball team bounced back in a big way Tuesday night, earning a decisive Big East road victory at Holton, 73–39.
Coming off a tough loss to ranked St. Marys last Friday, the Bluejays (5–5, 3–2) showed focus and balance throughout the night. Sabetha built a 12-point advantage by halftime and continued to apply pressure after the break, eventually forcing a running clock late in the fourth quarter.
The Bluejays took control of the game in the second half, outscoring Holton (1–9, 1–4) 43–21. Sabetha’s defensive intensity increased coming out of the locker room, limiting Holton’s scoring opportunities while turning stops into transition baskets. The visitors put the game away in the final period by outscoring the Wildcats 25–9.
Sabetha’s depth was on full display, as 12 different players found the scoring column. Junior Micah Lang led the way with a game-high 22 points and added 10 rebounds for a double-double performance. Jack Frazee provided a strong inside presence, finishing with 11 points and six rebounds. Kyson Wertenberger gave Sabetha a spark off the bench, contributing eight points and five rebounds.
Holton was led by Korben Fox, who scored a team-high 11 points. Kerrick Dedonder added 10 points, while Grant Warner chipped in with six points for the Wildcats.
