Silver Lake Volleyball Opens Season with Tournament Win at Salina South

The Silver Lake volleyball team opened their 2025 season with a 5-0 weekend and tournament championship at Salina South on Saturday. 

The Eagles didn't drop a single set defeating Wamego (25-16, 25-19), Chapman (25-17, 25-21), Minneapolis (25-15, 25-17), Salina South (25-18, 25-12), and Sacred Heart (25-19, 25-12). 

Multiple Eagles were named to the All-Tournament Team with Karys Deiter, Kylie Hanni, Paige Heiman, Jaiden Wise, and Jaylie Whitehead. Whitehead was named the co-most outstanding defensive player alongside Brylee Moss of Salina South. 

Salina South went 4-1 and finished in second place while Minneapolis finished 3-2 for a third place finish.
