The dominant 2024-2025 season continued Friday night for the Troy girls basketball team as they defeated Rock Hills at Centralia 43-31 to advance to the 1A-I State Tournament in Dodge City.
Harper Whetstine has been one of the best players in the state all season and led the Trojans with 20 points against Rock Hills.
Nicole Judd and Emerson Weber each hit two three's to provide some of the offense outside of Whetstine.
It was a low scoring first half as the Trojans led 19-14 and then they would build that up to 39-25 going into the fourth quarter.
The Trojans were the undefeated Northeast Kansas League Champions going 14-0. Troy's only loss of the season came against Lafayette (MO) back in the mid-season tournament at Hiawatha.
Since that loss, the Trojans have won 10 consecutive games including the run through sub-state which included a 59-50 win over Blue Valley-Randolph before knocking off Rock Hills in the title game.
Troy advances to the State Tournament for the first time since 2002 and they will head to Dodge City as one of the top teams with an overall record of 20-1.
