Sabetha pulled off a seventh inning comeback to defeat Hiawatha 4-2 in their Big 7 League debuts.

The Redhawks got the scoring started with two runs in the bottom of the first on an error and a bases loaded walk.

Sabetha responded with a run of their own in the third inning as Christian McAfee brought a run home on a groundout.

It was a pitcher's dual from then on with Aiden Lang pitching a gem for the Bluejays. He went six innings deep giving up just three hits, one earned run and four walks with seven strikeouts. He would end up getting the win as well.

As for Hiawatha, Rhen Hageman was sturdy in his start with three walks, two hits and one run allowed in three innings. Cooper Jacobsen was the first reliever out of the pen. In his first three innings, he gave up just one hit, two walks and no runs with two strikeouts.

However, in the seventh inning, Sabetha had Will Ulrich hit a leadoff double, Mitchel Kramer hit an RBI triple to tie the game and Marcus Bauman hit the go-ahead RBI single. Jacob Grimm would hit another RBI double for some insurance. Grimm finished the game off on the rubber with a save in which he got a couple of Ks.

Bauman finished his day going 3-for-4 with two infield singles and his game-winning RBI single. Kramer had two of the team's four runs, going 1-for-2 with a pair of walks.

The Bluejays get the win and are off to a good start in league play in hopes to repeat as league champions in the last year of the Big 7's existence.
