The Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association are having the inaugural Kansas Shrine Duals on Sunday, March 17th at Newman University's Fugate Gymnasium beginning at 3:15 PM.
Three area wrestlers will take part in the event with Leighanna Patz of McLouth, and both Cullen Wikle and Colin Menold of Sabetha.
Patz was a Regional Champion and placed fifth at the 4-1A State Tournament with a record of 31-3 at 135 pounds. Wikle also posted a fifth place finish at the Class 3-2-1A State Tournament last month and posted a finishing record of 40-7 at 132 pounds.
Menold had one of the best overall seasons in Kansas finishing a perfect 43-0 and winning the 3-2-1A State Championship at 150 pounds.
The purpose of the event is to continue to create impact and awareness for Shriners Children's Hospitals that the Shrine Bowl game has established over the years.
