Centralia got a pair of wins on Friday night to keep both teams perfect in league play with the girls winning 47-42 and the boys winning 49-43.

Frankfort struggled to get a shot to fall through in the first quarter as they made just one field goal in the opening eight minutes. However, they went 6-for-6 from the free throw line, and they would trail 12-8. It was a physical battle right out of the gate with both teams getting to the double bonus well before the quarter’s end.

The physical battle continued with Oen Deters getting hot from behind the arc. She made a pair of three-pointers in the second quarter and finished the half with 13 points. Hattie Gros provided most of the offense in the quarter for Frankfort as she had nine points going into the break.

In the third quarter, Alderfer kept it going with five more points including making two of the team’s four field goals. Frankfort got it down to a one-possession deficit early in the quarter, but Centralia held on to a 33-27 lead going into the final frame.

Wes Anderson scored quickly for the Wildcats to keep them in the ballgame with Olson and Fred Rosquist also providing offense in crucial moments. However, Duke Timmel would end up scoring nine points in the quarter with four of the team’s six field goals, and the Panthers would hold on to stay unbeaten in TVL play.
