Linn def. Frankfort 28-26, 25-23

It was back and forth in the first set until it was tied 14-14, when Frankfort rattled off seven straight points. The set seemed over, but the Bulldogs came back from being down 24-17 to get seven straight points of their own to make it 24-24 and send it to extra points. Frankfort had multiple opportunities to put the set away, but Linn was able to pull out the comeback and win set one 28-26.

Frankfort led most of set number two and had a lead as large as six points. Linn didn’t have its first lead until 23-22. Frankfort tried to force extras like Linn did in the first set, but Linn was able to secure the second set victory 25-23 to win the match.

Linn def. Onaga 25-20, 20-25, 25-18

Onaga led for most of the first set, but never had a lead greater than three points. With the score tied 20-20, Linn scored on five consecutive Onaga errors including three straight aces from freshman Gretchen Bott.

To start the second set, it was back-and-forth with Linn leading for the majority of the first half of the set. Onaga was able to then start a seven-point run to go up 21-15. Linn stayed resilient as they had been all evening and fought back to get within two at 21-19, but Onaga was able to force the third set winning set number two 25-20.

After a stalemate at the beginning of the set, Linn was able to handily win the finally set 25-18 to put away the match in three sets.

Frankfort def. Onaga 26-24, 25-18

Frankfort had a decent-sized cushion on Onaga for most of the first set, but they once again struggled to pull away. After having a 21-15 lead, Onaga was able to force extra points. Unlike their first two sets against Linn, though, they were finally able to get over the hump and win the set 26-24.

The Wildcats had another nice start to the second set going up 16-8. However, just like the first set, Onaga didn’t give up and proceeded to get seven of the next eight points to make it 17-15. Out of the timeout, Frankfort was able to pull away and win the match with the second set being 25-18.
