Day 2 Recap of State Golf: Sabetha Finishes Second in 3A

State Golf Tournaments concluded on Tuesday across the state with plenty of area athletes finishing their season on a high note. 

In Class 4A it was Holton's Parker Crouch and Brody Meyer who finished second round play at Quail Ridge in Winfield. 

Crouch followed up his first round of 85 with a day two score of 86 while Meyer shot an 80 on Monday but a 92 on Tuesday. 

In Class 3A, Sabetha finished play in second place behind the state champs Heritage Christian. Over the two day tournament the Bluejays finished with a team score of 635 with Heritage Christian finishing with a score of 613. 

Sabetha got top 10 finishes from both Roman Scoby and Cullen Wikle. Scoby shot a 76 both days while Wikle shot a 79 on Monday and a 73 on Tuesday. 

The lone 2A participant was Jayden DeWalt of Valley Heights. DeWalt improved on his second day score shooting an 80 after firing an 87 on Monday. 

In Class 1A it was Washington County that finished in second place behind the state champs in South Gray. 

The Tigers top performer was Monte Huckett who shot an 84 on both Monday and Tuesday. 

Centralia was led by Drew Gibbs who shot a 79 on Tuesday and placed 11th overall while Paxton Bowers shot an 87 and finished inside the top 20.
