The Kansas Association of Baseball Coaches have released their updated baseball rankings for the final week of the regular season.

Atchison is ranked #8 in Class 4A despite having one of the best records in the classification at 16-1 overall. The Phoenix only loss of the season was the first game against Heritage Christian 7-6.

Since then they have been running through the Meadowlark Conference and have outscored their last four opponents 50-5.

Sabetha has jumped into the rankings in Class 3A at #8 after clinching the Big 7 league title for 2023 last week. The Bluejays swept Rossville in the season finale and finished with a record of 16-4 overall.

They will have a great opportunity to make it back to the State Tournament as they have the best record in the Nemaha Central Regional.

Finally, you have Onaga and Valley Falls holding strong in Class 2-1A with the Buffaloes ranked #6 and the Dragons ranked #8.

The two teams met last week in Onaga with the Buffaloes picking up the sweep with wins of 12-5 and 15-1. Onaga is hosting a Regional Tournament with Valley Falls among some other local teams and they could potentially meet in a Regional title game.
