2023 Regional Boys and Girls Track & Field Regional Assignments

The boys and girls high school track and field season has gotten underway and before we know it, it will be time for regional track meets across the state of Kansas. Here is a look at where our area teams will be competing for hopes in punching a ticket to one of the biggest meets in the United States, the Kansas State Track & Field meet in Wichita at Cessna Stadium.

4A – Shawnee Mission North Regional

On Friday, May 19th, Holton and Atchison will be competing at Shawnee Mission North High School in a regional meet. Field events will begin at 1:00 p.m. with prelims starting at 3:00 p.m. and finals at 5:30 p.m. Other teams competing include Baldwin, Eudora, Louisburg, Bishop Miege, Tonganoxie, Hayden and Wamego.

3A – West Franklin Regional

West Franklin High School will be holding a regional meet on Friday, May 19th. The field events will start at 3:00 p.m. with prelims beginning at 5:00 p.m. and the finals starting 30 minutes after the prelims conclude. Area teams competing include Maur Hill Mount Academy, ACCHS, Hiawatha, Royal Valley, Jefferson West, Marysville, Perry-Lecompton, Sabetha, Nemaha Central and Silver Lake. Other teams competing include Bishop Ward, Heritage Christian, West Franklin, Rossville, Santa Fe Trail and Wellsville.

2A – Valley Heights Regional

On Thursday, May 18th, Valley Heights will be hosting a regional track and field meet with many area teams competing. The field events will begin at 3:00 p.m. with prelims starting at 5:00 p.m. and the finals starting 30 minutes after the prelims conclude. Area teams that will be there include Horton, Jackson Heights, McLouth, Oskaloosa, Riverside, Valley Falls and Jefferson County North. Other schools that will be there include Republic County, Bennington, Pleasant Ridge, Sacred Heart, Smith Center, St. Mary’s, Cair Paravel and Wabaunsee.

1A – Rock Hills Regional

At Rock Hills High School in Mankato on Thursday, May 18th, Axtell, Centralia, Clifton-Clyde, Doniphan West, Frankfort, Hanover, Linn, Onaga, Blue Valley-Randolph, Troy, Washington County and Wetmore will all compete for spots at the state track meet. The field events begin at 3:00 p.m. with the prelims starting at 4:30 p.m. and the finals starting 30 minutes after the prelims conclude.
