Highland Scotties held serve on their home court over the weekend with a pair of six point wins this weekend of Allen Community College. The lady Scotties tallied a 56-50 win, while their counterparts registered a 66-60 win on the court.

Despite a woefully shooting night for the Scotties who were 28.1% from the floor (18-64 field goals) they were able to get the win over Allen CC. Allen CC was up at the half 25-24 but Highland battled back with a 32-25 second half for the win. Scotties were lead by Ryann Bowser who tallied 13 points on the night, while Ashley Torres posted 12 points. Five other Scotties tallied points in the game, also on the day.

For the men they were cruising along in the fist half, leading 31-19 at the half but Allen CC battled back into the game behind a 41-35 second half, but Highland held for the win by six points. Three players lead Highland in double figures with a double-double by Martell Collins pacing the way, as he registered 15 points and 10 rebounds. Bryant Fultz and Kris Smith each added 12 and 11 points, respectively for Highland on the day, also.

With the win the lady Scotties improved to 19-3 overall and 8-3 in the conference, while the men moved to 14-8 on the season and 7-4 in the conference. Highland now sets their sights on a road game this Wednesday against Labette at 5:30 and 7:30pm.
