The 2023 Boys BIT Wrestling tournament took place on Saturday at Baldwin High School and Holton was able to place third with 144 points.

Jefferson West and Perry Lecompton also participated with the Tigers finishing 14th place and the Kaws finishing 16th out of 18 total team scores.

Maverick Hug of Holton finished eighth individually in the 106-pound weight class. Cesar Sandoval placed sixth in the 113-pound weight class. Lucas Baetz got second place in the 120-weight class. In the 126, Asher Larsen placed second and his teammate Sean Morrissey placed fourth. Kyler Jackson finished third in the 132-pound weight class. Cale Hein placed second in the 138. In the 165-pound weight class, Jayden Fletcher took first place. Dalton Roush also finished runner-up in the 215-pound class.

Karson Kahler of Jefferson West placed fourth in the 113-pound class. Keaton Shelman placed sixth in the 190. Osiris Unruh placed second in the 285-pound weight class.

Perry-Lecompton’s Bennett Minnick placed eighth in the 144-pound class. David Hays also of Perry-Lecompton finished seventh in the 150-pound weight class. Christian Conklin took second place in the 175-pound class.
