Atchison hosted the 2023 George Worley Invitational Wrestling tournament on Saturday and AHS won its own tournament.

The Phoenix placed first with 100 total points, 43 more than Maur-Hill Mount Academy who finished second. Pleasant Ridge finished third with 55 points.

At the 106-weight class, Cam Allen from Atchison finished second place. Peyton Rivera from Royal Valley finished third.

In the 113, Andrew Steward of Pleasant Ridge finished runner-up.

At the 120 class, Jaxson Vice from Maur-Hill Mount Academy took home first place. Matthew Tracy of Royal Valley finished second and Isaac Hayes of Oskaloosa finished third.

In the 126, Camron Yuill of Doniphan West won the weight class. Austin Gaskell of Horton placed third and Rylan Holtgrave of Maur-Hill Mount Academy finished fourth.

At the 132-weight class, Andy Lanter of Pleasant Ridge came out on top. Gavin Akin of Royal Valley finished second, Evan Dome of Oskaloosa was third and Hayden Hoffman of Doniphan West finished fourth.

Jackson Bilderback of Atchison took first place in the 138-weight class. Easton Sieler of Pleasant Ridge finished runner-up and Holdon Bowe of Doniphan West got the bronze.

In the 144, James Peltzer of Maur-Hill Mount Academy won the tournament. Weston Ross of Royal Valley finished second place and Aeden Honeywell of Atchison placed third.

Luke Peltzer of Maur-Hill Mount Academy won the 150-pound weight class. Preston Warbritton of Oskaloosa placed third and Michael Fuhrman got fourth.

Leighton Boldridge and Anthony Coady both of Atchison placed third and fourth place, respectively, in the 157-weight class.

At the 165-pound weight class, John McEvoy of Pleasant Ridge got first place. Caleb Aversman of Atchison placed second and Michael Garrett of Maur-Hill Mount Academy placed third.

Calvin Riley of Royal Valley finished second in the 175-pound weight class and KeAndraie Clemons of Oskaloosa placed third.

In the 190-pound class, Cyrus Harding of Royal Valley took home first place.

At 215, Colsen Perry of Oskaloosa won the tournament. Todd Daniels of Atchison finished runner-up and DJ Hund of Pleasant Ridge placed third.

LaVonte McGowan of Atchison won the 285-pound weight class. Landen Bell and Jacob Perry also of Atchison placed second and third place, respectively.
