First KBCA Poll of 2023 Released

The first rankings of 2023 from the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association were released this afternoon.

Nemaha Central enters the new year ranked fourth in class 3A in the girls’ rankings. ACCHS comes in ranked number nine as well.

Jackson Heights is number three in the Class 2A poll. Riverside is five spots behind at number eight in the state.

In Class 1A-D1, Clifton-Clyde checks in at number four after a great start to their season. Centralia checks in at number seven and Frankfort is ninth in the new rankings.

Hanover is still on top of the Class 1A-D2 poll. Linn moves up one spot to ninth in the state after winning at Centralia last week.

For the boys’ side, in Class 4A, Atchison is ranked fifth in the latest poll.

In Class 3A, Sabetha is ranked second in the state, falling from the number one spot.

Centralia stays at number two in the Class 1A-D1 poll. Clifton-Clyde continues to impress as they come into the new year ranked fourth. Blue Valley has been great this season and they check in at number seven.

As for Class 1A-D2, Hanover has climbed to third in the state. Axtell’s impressive start has earned them the ranking of fifth in the poll.
