Nemaha Central's Michael Glatczak Named A Shrine Bowl Assistant Coach

The Kansas Shrine Bowl has announced their assistant coaches for the 2023 game, and Nemaha Central head coach Michael Glatczak will represent Class 2A on the East team.

Glatczak led the Thunder to a Class 2A state title with a perfect 13-0 record. His overall record is now 20-3 as the head coach of Nemaha Central.

The Thunder cruised through the regular season which included multiple wins over top-ranked opponents Holton and Sabetha. Their season also included a district title and Big 7 League title.

Glatczak also played in the Shrine Bowl in 2012 with Centralia.

Other assistant coaches selected for the East team include Lorne Clark from Olathe East (6A), Josh Lassiter from Pittsburg (5A), Weston Moody from Wamego (4A), Bill Arnold from Topeka Hayden (3A) and Kyle Schenk from St. Mary’s (1A). The head coach for the East team is Clint Rider from Blue Valley Northwest.

For the West team, they will be led by Tony Crough from Hays. His assistants will be Joe Schartz from Manhattan (6A), Mark Sandbo from Salina Central (5A), Jace Pavlovich from McPherson (4A), Marc Henry from Clay Center (3A), Tanner Hageman from Kingman (2A) and Matt Biehler from Conway Springs (1A).
