We're down to the Semi-Finals in the high school football playoffs and K-Preps have released their latest rankings ahead of the Sub-State matchups.
8M-II - Axtell remains the #1 ranked team as they cruised past Osborne last week 52-6. The Eagles have won 24 straight games as they look to repeat as State Champions. Axtell and #2 Canton Galva are set to square off this week in Sub-State.

Other Semi-Final: #4 Dighton at #3 Thunder Ridge
1A - The Centralia Panthers remain the lone undefeated team left in the classification. Centralia beat Olpe 8-7 to get to the Semi-Finals. The Eagles were searching for their third straight State Championship while Centralia is looking for their first title since 2019. Panthers will travel to #2 St. Marys this week as the Bears are coming off a win against St. Marys Colgan.

2A - Two area teams remain in Class 2A and will face off this week to see who gets to go to the State Championship game. #2 Nemaha Central will host #4 Sabetha. The Thunder improved to 11-0 after winning at Humboldt last week 44-20 while the Bluejays won big over Caney Valley 47-0. The Thunder and Bluejays this Friday will be a rematch of the regular season finale in late October where Nemaha Central won 24-7 at home to win the Big 7 and District Titles.

3A - The Holton Wildcats are once again one win away from the State Championship game. They got to the Semi-Finals last season before losing to Frontenac. Holton has been dominate during the postseason and are coming off a 47-27 win at Girard for their 10th straight win. Holton will host #3 Hayden for the second time this season. Holton beat Hayden 37-13 on October 14th.
