Riley County Invitational Results

Over the weekend, local cross country teams competed in the Riley County Invitational.

For the boys’ varsity 5K, Axtell finished fourth place, Royal Valley got fifth, Rock Creek placed sixth, and Washington County ended up in eighth place.

In the girls’ varsity 5K, Royal Valley finished sixth and Axtell placed eighth place.

Southeast of Saline won both the girls and boys meets.

Individually, Axtell junior Grady Buessing finished sixth place with a time of 17:35. Jaemon Smith, a senior from Royal Valley finished in 12th with a time of 18:15. Two spots behind him was his teammate Quinton Nelson with a time of 18:27.

For the girls’ side, Royal Valley senior Cheyenne Hittle placed 14th with a time of 22:02. Her teammate freshman Addilyn Lefferd finished 22nd with a time of 22:42. Sophomore from Washington County McKenzie Baker placed 23rd with a time of 22:47.
