Linn was able to win handily against Doniphan West by a final score of 52-24.

Doniphan West, though, started the scoring with sophomore wide receiver Cooper Eberly getting a ten-yard rushing touchdown to go up 6-0.

Linn would respond on their next drive with a methodical drive with short yardage plays, but it was a 20-yard rushing touchdown from freshman running back Dylan Ohlde that got Linn on the scoreboard to go up 8-6.

The turning point in the game would be when the Mustangs went for it on 4th and long but were unable to convert on a long pass attempt down the right side of the field. On the very next play, the Bulldogs scored on 38-yard throw by junior quarterback Gavin Turk to sophomore wide receiver Connor Ohlde to extend the lead to 14-6.

On the first play of the next Doniphan West possession, they fumbled it to give it back to Linn. Two plays later, and they were in the endzone again to go up 22-6. This time it was Turk who got in with a seven-yard rushing score. Turk would score two more rushing touchdowns back-to-back making it 38-6.

The Mustangs wouldn’t go away, however, as running back Kelby Windmeyer threw a 22-yard touchdown pass to Eberly making it 38-12. Linn would come right back with Turk’s second passing touchdown as he connected with Connor Ohlde.

Windmeyer then ran the ensuing kickoff all the way back for a 58-yard touchdown to make it 46-18.

Turk scored his sixth total touchdown on a six-yard run on the next drive making it 52-18.

Windmeyer would get his third total score of the day with a 44-yard rushing touchdown with 2:42 left to get to the final score of 52-24.

Linn improves to 2-4 on the regular season, 1-3 in Twin Valley League play, and 1-2 in district play.

Doniphan West falls to 1-5 on the regular season, 0-4 in TVL play and 0-3 in district play.
