It was announced yesterday that Dayton Moore will no longer hold the general manager role for the Kansas City Royals.

He had the reins for 16 years which included just two playoff appearances, but a World Series title in 2015, the first one the organization won in 30 years at that time.

General manager J.J. Picollo will oversee the baseball operations department, according to Royals chairman and CEO John Sherman announced, effective immediately.

"Today, I think the bottom line here is it's time for change," Sherman said before their win Wednesday night.
