The 2022 High School football season is less than two weeks away and we got you covered with a quick preview of the Twin Valley League.
12 of the past 14 years at least one Twin Valley League school has claimed a State Championship in football, and the tradition continued in 2021 with Axtell claiming their first State Title since 1993.
The league was fun to follow last year as the competition was at a high level. The league consistently produces some of the best teams in the 8-Man and 1A classifications. Heading into the 2022 season, Axtell is the clear-cut favorite to defend their State Title with everyone returning from last year’s team.
Clifton Clyde will have the pieces for a potential deep postseason run. Hanover is coming off a down season where they still won six games.
Teams such as Washington County, Blue Valley, and Linn return talent across the board and will look to make a jump this season. Frankfort and Doniphan West each lost a heavy group to graduation and will have plenty of new faces making plays this season.
In 11-Man, Centralia will have a new head coach and the talent to remain the best in the league. Valley Heights, Onaga, and Troy will all have teams that will be able to compete towards the top with Centralia.
The Twin Valley League continues to produce strong competition and this year will be no exception.
You can check out the complete team previews in the Pigskin Preview Magazine which is available now.
