Centralia's Season Comes to an End; Troy Advances to Sub-State Title Game

1A-I Sub-State Semi-Finals at Frankfort 

(1) Cair Paravel 58, (4) Centralia 52

Centralia jumped out to an early lead as they led 15-10 at the end of the first quarter. The Lions would bounce back with a big second quarter as they would outscore the Panthers 20-8 to take a 30-23 lead into the halftime break. 

Centralia battled in the third quarter as both teams traded buckets to the tune of an 18-16 quarter for the Panthers. 

Centralia would have their chances in the fourth quarter but the Lions would get some stops on defense and make some clutch free throws down the stretch to get the win. 

Cair Paravel was led by Noah Hastert with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Zachary Clark and Ethan Everhart each added 12 points. 

Centralia was led by Colton Weyer with 14 points and Presly Bowers added 11 points. Panthers season comes to an end with a record of 12-10. 

(2) Frankfort 32, (3) Troy 34

Both teams struggled to score in the first half, particularly in the second quarter. Troy jumped out to a 10-6 lead at the end of the first quarter and would lead 14-9 at halftime as both teams combined for just seven points in the second quarter. 

Both teams would find a stride in the third quarter as the offense on both sides picked up. The game was tied as Frankfort picked things up and outscored Troy 17-12 to tie the game at 26-all going into the fourth quarter. 

With under 10 seconds left, Frankfort was down two with Caden Dalinghaus going to the free throw line with a chance to tie the game. Dalinghaus would hit one of two to get the Wildcats within one and they would have to foul. 

Troy would hit one of two free throw's with around six seconds left to take a two point lead. Frankfort would have a chance but turned the ball over and Troy was able to run out the clock to preserve the win and advance. 

Troy was led by Reagan Hartman with 14 points and eight rebounds. Jerrit Norris added eight points and eight rebounds as they improve to 15-7 overall. 

Frankfort was led by Samuel Gros with 15 points and six rebounds while Dalinghaus added 11 points. The Wildcats season comes to an end with a record of 15-7. 

The Lions and Trojans will battle Saturday night in the Sub-State Title game in Frankfort with a trip to the State Tournament on the line.
