Final Wrestling Rankings Out from the KWCA as State Tournaments Take Place This Week

The Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association have released their final rankings of the 2021-2022 season as State Tournaments take place this week. 

The Holton boys close the season ranked ninth in Class 4A as they will have a big showing at the State Tournament this weekend. 

Four Wildcats are ranked with Tucker Gilliland sixth at 113, Jayden Fletcher second at 160, Dalton Roush second at 220, and Dustin Chermok ranked fourth at 285. 

There will be plenty of area wrestlers competing at the 3-2-1A State Tournament in Hays this weekend with 41 local wrestlers from 10 area schools. 

Athletes in the 3-2-1A rankings this week include Marysville's Gable Fredrickson fifth at 120 while Carter Trimble is fourth at 126. 

Cullen Wikle of Sabetha is ranked sixth at 126 while Mason Scholz of ACCHS is ranked fourth at 132. Sabetha's Colin Menold is ranked sixth at 132. 

Sabetha's Jonathan Renyer, our reigning athlete of the week, is ranked sixth at 152. 

The Holton girls will finish the season ranked fourth in Class 4-1A as they will have a big showing at State this week. 

Wildcats ranked include Macey Gross fourth at 120, Gracie Gallagher fifth at 132, and Sadie Walker is fifth at 143. 

Oskaloosa will close the season in the rankings at number 10 with Holly Thacher fourth at 101, and Allison King ranked first at 155. 

Other area wrestlers in the final rankings include McLouth's Anna Patz fourth at 126, and Marysville's Ella Johnson fourth at 138. 

The 4-1A girls State Tournament will take place Wednesday and Thursday in Salina. Boys 4A will also be in Salina on Friday and Saturday while 3-2-1A boys will be Friday and Saturday in Hays. 

103.9 KNZA will have bottom of the hour updates all throughout the day from Wednesday to Saturday with Justin Fluke and Brandon Tadtman providing updates.
