Nemaha Central Girls, Perry Lecompton Boys Claim Big 7 League Track Titles

Big 7 League Track – Results

The Big 7 League held its annual track meet Thursday afternoon at Perry Lecompton and it was the Nemaha Central girls along with the Perry boys who claimed the team titles.

The Thunder girls claimed their third straight league title behind five first place finishes as Julie Rottinghaus won the 100-meter dash, Heather Suther the 200-meter dash, Hailey Nordus the 400-meter dash and the 4 by 100 and 4000-meter relay teams.

Sabetha added four event wins as Mary Lukert won the 300-meter hurdles, while Hattie Lukert won the 800 and 1600-meter runs and Olivia Saner the pole vault.

Hiawatha added three more wins as Claire Geiger won the 100-meter hurdles, Kate Madsen the 3200-meter run, and the 4 by 800-meter relay team.

Royal Valley’s Ivy Fink captured the high jump and shot put, while Holton’s Saydee Tanking won the javelin and Darcee Ashcraft the discus.

The girl’s side was rounded out by Jeff West who had Mellany Roene win the long jump and triple jump.

On the boy’s side Perry Lecompton won the league title behind nine first place finishes as Caidon Quinlan won the 100-meter dash, Hunter Hess the 200 and 400-meter dashes, James Bartlett the 800-meter run, the 4 by 100, 400 and 800-meter relays, Kaden Doleman the high jump, Parker Stone the long jump.

Holton added five more event winners as Kale Purcell won the 110 and 300-meter hurdles along with Canon Karn winning the triple jump and javelin.

Hiawatha added wins by Justin Hodge in the 1600 and 3200-meter runs, while Royal Valley’s Luke Boyden captured the pole vault.

The meet was rounded out by Nemaha Central’s Nathan Deters who won the shot put and discus.
