LUBBOCK, Texas – Despite a late rally, Kansas State suffered through one of its roughest shooting performances of the season, as Texas Tech defended its home floor with a 59-50 win on Wednesday night at the United Spirit Arena.

K-State (10-5, 1-2 Big 12) was led by Bri Craig with a career-high 18 points on 6-of-12 shooting, including 3-of-6 from beyond the arc. The freshman from Lincoln, Neb., has scored in double digits in seven games this season and three of the last five. Her effort Wednesday night surpassed her career-high of 15 at UNLV on Dec. 21.

Brittany Chambers narrowly missed her fourth double-double of the season, as finished with 15 points and a team-high nine rebounds. This was Chambers’ 14th game in double figures this season and the 88th in her career. She has led K-State in rebounding in eight games this season and 44 games in her career.

For the night, the Wildcats shot .306 from the field (15-of-49) including a 5-of-22 performance from beyond the arc.

Texas Tech (12-3, 2-1 Big 12) received diverse scoring, as eight of the nine players who saw action registered points. The Lady Raiders were led by Kelsi Baker and Jackie Patterson with 14 points apiece. Baker also added eight rebounds, two assists, a block and a steal to her final stat line.

Both teams pieced together early runs, as K-State jumped out to an 8-0 lead to open the game highlighted by a pair of Craig three-point field goals. Texas Tech answered with a 27-9 run to secure a 27-17 lead at the half.

During Texas Tech’s run for the remainder of the first half, the Wildcats made two field goals for the final 13 minutes of the opening stanza. K-State was held to a .208 field goal percentage in the first half, while carding a season-low for points in a half.

After K-State narrowed the Texas Tech lead to eight following a pair of Craig free throws, the Lady Raiders distanced themselves from the Wildcats with a 10-3 run to capture a 39-24 lead with 11:57 to play.

Texas Tech would build its lead to 19 on two separate occasions in the second half. K-State pieced together a 12-2 run in the final three and a half minutes of the game to bring the deficit to seven, 57-50, with 41 seconds remaining. The Wildcats’ run was boosted by consecutive three-pointers from Chambers and Craig.
