Forbes Claims State Title to Lead Area Girls at State Wrestling

Back on Friday five area girls competed at state wreslting in Salina and all five girls placed along with one earning a state title.

That state championship game from ACCHS’ Tannah Forbes who rolled through the 191-pound weight class to claim state winning by pin in the title match to finish with a 9-3 record on the year.

Oskaloosa ended the day with a runner-up finish from Allison King at 155 pounds as she fell by major decision in her title bout.

Holton’s Macey Gross made history on Friday at state as she became the first Wildcat girl to earn a medal after she took fourth place at 126 pounds.

State placers were rounded out by Royal Valley and Sabetha as the Panthers had Maya Ogden finish sixth at 138 while the Jays’ Kylie Meredith was fifth at 235.
