Northeast Kansas League Volleyball Preview

The high school volleyball season is scheduled to begin on Saturday for a few area teams and with that we continue to preview each area league by today looking at the Northeast Kansas League.

The 2020 Northeast Kansas League title was shared between Oskaloosa and Jackson Heights who each finished with a 14-2 league record.

Both teams had into this season with all-league returners back as the Bears bring back the duo of Reece and Regan Curry while the Cobras bring back Sarah Marshall who was an honorable mention all-league selection a year ago.

The most returning all-league selections come from Maur Hill-Mount Academy who brings back three girls after going 6-10 in league last season with first team selections Blair Taylor and Madison Folsom back along with honorable mention honoree Malia DuLac.

Jeff County North saw the most success of any team in the NEKL last season reaching the state tournament with a 32-11 overall record but bring back just honorable mention all-league selection Kassidy Robertson while losing two first team all-leaguers from a year ago.

McLouth has high hopes heading into the season after going 6-10 in the league last season and the Bulldogs bring back first team all-league selection and junior Sam Pope along with sophomore Jill Holwick who earn honorable mention honors last season.

The final two all-league returners come from ACCHS and Valley Falls as the Tigers bring back sophomore Addison Schletzbaum while the Dragons return senior Kenzie Nellis as both were honorable mention selections a year ago.
