(KLZA) Peru State College (PSC) running back Ryan Ludlow joined Baker teammates Emmerson Clarke and Steven Stewart as the Heart of America Athletic Conference Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week, respectively, on Monday afternoon.

Ludlow helped Peru State get its 2012 campaign off to a record-breaking start as the Bobcats claimed a 35-27 victory at Dakota State (S.D.) on Saturday afternoon. A sophomore from Plattsmouth, Ludlow carried the ball 14 times for 204 yards and two touchdowns covering 66 and 86 yards. He was the first Peru State runner to eclipse the 200-yard mark in a single game for at least 10 years and was the most by a HAAC player since Tommy Meyer of Evangel tallied 207 yards against Avila during 2010 season.

Former Bobcat, Scott Gerdes, an Auburn High graduate, holds the rushing mark at PSC. Gerdes set the standard in 1990 against Baker gaining 252 yards on 31 rushes. Ironically, Baker is Peru State's home opener this weekend.

The first set of NAIA weekly awards will be handed out next Monday, September 3, with each winner on the conference level representing the conference for those honors.
