Frankfort Girls & Centralia Boys win Frankfort Late Track Invite

Five Twin Valley League teams competed against each other on Thursday in track and field action as Frankfort hosted their late Invitational. 

On the girls side the host Frankfort just edged Hanover by one point to win the team title, while Centralia took third and Valley Heights and Onaga finished fourth and fifth. Centralia boys took first by a wide margin, while Valley Heights took second and Frankfort third. Hanover and Onaga boys finished fourth and fifth to round out the boys team standings. 

Centralia led the way with the most event wins on the day claiming 14 first place finishes overall with 10 coming in the boys events. Dylan Boeckman swept the boys hurdles winning the 110 and 300 meter hurdles with times of 16.54 and 44.19, while also registering a vault of 13'00 to take first place. Also on the track for the Centralia boys Ransom Engelken won the 3200 meter run (12:37), Kamble Haverkamp took first in the 800 meter run (2:20.48) and the 4x100 and 4x400 meter relay teams earned first with times of 46.51 and 3:43.74. In the field events Centralia boys had Noah Quigley win the triple jump (37'11), Daegan Steinlage take first in the discus (149'10) and Josh Hasenkamp claim first in the javelin (164'03). Lady Panthers were led by Morgan Kramer who sprinted to first place in the 100 and 200 meter dashes with times of 13.07 and 27.51. Morgan Koch took first in the 400 meter dash (1:06.65) and Jade Rumbo won the discus (93'07). 

Valley Heights recorded eight event winners on the day with a pair of multi-event winners in the girl’s competition. Skyler Saunders won both the high jump and triple jump behind leaps of 5'02 and 34'05, while Abby Lister took first in the 1600 and 3200 meter runs with times of 6:11.93 and 14:08.72. Three of the four first place finishes by the Mustang boys came on the track as Jeremy Reed won the 400 meter dash (53.49), Alex Hardin took first in the 1600 meter run (5:13.77) and the 4x800 meter relay (9:21.15) took first. Jackson O'Toole earned first in the long jump (18'05). 

Hanover Wildcats had Pete Peters win a pair of events taking first in the boys high jump (5'08) and shot put (41'04). While in the girls competition it was a sweep of the relays as the lady Wildcats posted times of 53.20, 4:22.25 and 10:57.73 to win the 4x100, 4x400 and 4x800 meter relays. Claire Zarybnicky posted a time of 2:31.21 to win the 800 meter run, while Macy Doebele earned first in the long jump (16'02). 

The host Frankfort had five event winners on the day with Carson Schreiner sprinting past the competition to win the boys 100 and 200 meter dashes with times of 11.61 and 23.56. For the lady Wildcats Grace Dressman won the 300 meter hurdles (51.55), while Kennen Brandt took first in the pole vault (9'00) and Kaci Vaughn won the javelin (109'01). 

Onaga Buffaloes were led by Belinda Ames and Morgan Mayginnes who won the girls 100 meter hurdles (17.71) and shot put (32'04), respectively.
