The annual KBCA All-Star basketball games feature some of the top senior basketball players from Kansas over the past year and six athletes from the Kanzaland area suited up to represent their schools in the girls and boys All-Star games.

In the girls matchup the Blue team claimed the 82-75 win over the White team as Jefferson County North Charger, Jacee Kramer helped the Blue team claim the win scoring six points on a 3-10 night from the floor. While on the White team in the loss B&B Falcon, Laura Sudbeck posted seven points going 3-5 from the flooring including 1-1 from three-point land. While, Holton Wildcat, Kyrstie Miller posted the most points of the three area participants scoring nine points for the White team on 4-10 shooting, including a three-point basket.

All three girls enjoyed great basketball and athletic careers in high school leading their teams to great performances their senior years and many other seasons as each gal won a championship in their respective classification with their team during their four years. Both Kramer and Miller will continue their basketball careers at the next level as they are set to become teammates at Emporia State University, while Sudbeck will continue her athletic career in the sport of volleyball at Cloud County Community College next year.

The boys matchup lived up to many other All-Star games that meaning there was plenty of scoring featured in the matchup between the two teams as the White team claimed the 105-97 win over the Blue team. Just like the girls matchup three area athletes where featured in the contest and the team that featured only one area athlete claimed the win as Royal Valley Panther, Skyler Link helped the White team claim the win as he finished with nine points in the game as he was a perfect 4-4 from the floor and 1-2 at the free throw line. On the Blue team its was Nemaha County representing the area as Nemaha Valley Raider, Caleb Meyer and Centralia Panther, Sam Steinlage suited up. Meyer finished the contest with five points on 2-5 shooting and 1-2 free throws, while Steinlage posted two points on 1-2 field goals.

Just like the girls all three boys competing in the All-Star game enjoyed great athletic careers during their time in high school and put together plenty of memorable moments on the basketball court and in multiple other sports for their respective schools. Both Link and Meyer are set to continue their basketball careers moving forward as Link will compete at Labette County Community College, while Meyer will suit up for Cloud County Community College. Steinlage will also continue his athletic career next year in college but will be playing football at Washburn University.

The high school basketball careers wrapped up for six area athletes on Saturday at the annual KBCA All-Star games giving those athletes one final time to represent their school as they look forward to college.
