Area Players to Participate in Annual Southeast Community College All-Star Events

Southeast Community College in Beatrice will host the Annual Southeast Nebraska All-Star Basketball Games on Saturday June, 21 with the Annual All-Star Volleyball Game on Friday, June 20. All the games will be played at the Truman Center on the Beatrice Campus of Southeast Community College.  

The Friday night volleyball match will begin at 7:30 p-m. The Saturday basketball games will be at 6 p-m for the women and 8 p-m for the men. 

Players for the game are selected from nominations submitted by Southeast Nebraska coaches. 

Players for the Volleyball All-Star game include East Squad members Courtney Mathewson from Pawnee City; Courtney Allen from HTRS;  Nicole Carbajal from Johnson-Brock;  Stasia Nielsen from Sterling;  Baylee Hughes, Allison Brinkman, and Emily Harsin from Syracuse. 

Cara DeBuhr, Lewiston volleyball coach will serve as the Head Coach of the East Squad assisted by Jacqueline Mohr from Syracuse.  

The East Squad Girls basketball team will be coached by Jerry Rempe from Southern with Sacred Heart Coach Luke Santo as the assistant.  

Players will include Brooke Scheitel from Falls City; Ashli Jordan from Sacred Heart;  Hanna Borrenpohl from Johnson County Central, Tori Rowe from Johnson-Brock; Tara Hestermann from Sterling;  Jeryn Creek and Kelsey Buss from Southern;  Julie Reed and Paige Kapperman from Syracuse;   Chelsea Rapp from Freeman and Sarah Schmidt and Erin Saathoff from Diller-Odell.  

The Boys East Squad basketball team will be coached by Sacred Heart’s Doug Goltz who will be assisted by Johnson County Central Coach Chris Hutt. 

Players on the East Squad will include Mitchell Harling from Falls City;  Chaz Dunn and Matt Goltz from Sacred Heart;  Cutter Singleton from Lewiston;  Chase Grizzle from Pawnee City;  Cole Schuster from Freeman;  Aaron Miller from Lourdes Central Catholic;  Nick Stalhl from Johnson-Brock; Grant Badertscher from Johnson County Central and Jesse Phillips from Sterling.
