It was another great year for sports in Northeast Kansas and the volleyball season was definitely one to remember for many teams including the B&B Falcons and Jefferson County Chargers who will be represented on Saturday, June 7th at the Kansas Volleyball Association 2014 All-Star game at Lee Arena on the campus of Washburn University in Topeka.

B&B Falcon, Laura Sudbeck and JCN Charger, Jamie Navinskey both who plan on continuing their volleyball career at the college level next year were selected to the All-Star game and will both play on the Red team in the competition on Saturday at 6:30pm.

Sudbeck was part of a historical run for the B&B Falcons volleyball program as they went out on top this year for the third straight year claiming the Class 1A-DII State championship, while posting a 42-3 record this season. The 42 wins in the Falcons final season, set a new school record for wins in a single season as they won the regular season Twin Valley League title, Sub-State title and State title during the season. Laura garnered multiple accolades on the volleyball court in her senior year as she had the previous years, earning first team All-TVL, 1A-DII All-State tournament team and first team 1A-DII All-State honors. The Falcon earned All-State honors for the fourth straight year and first team All-State for the third straight season, while being named 1A-DII Player of the Year for the second straight year. She plans on continuing her volleyball career at Cloud County Community College next year.

Navinskey helped the JCN Chargers to a runner-up finish in Class 2A this year finishing with a 37-10 record and winning the first ever Northeast Kansas League title by going 16-0 in league play. The Chargers who in 2012 earned fourth place at State bettered that finish this year in Navinskey's senior year finishing second after falling to Hillsboro in the championship match. Jamie finished her senior season as a Charger earning first team All-NEKL honors, while being named to the 2A All-State tournament team and earning first team 2A All-State honors, too. She plans on continuing her volleyball career next year at Benedictine College.

JCN Charger head coach, Paula Cobb is also set to be part of the All-Star game as she will serve as one of the coaches on the Blue team.

Both Sudbeck and Navinskey enjoyed great high school sports careers in volleyball and other sports and get the chance to represent their high school one last time on the volleyball court before moving on to college as they hit the court on Saturday. The 2014 KVA All-Star game is slated to start at 6:30pm at Lee Arena at Washburn University.
