Northeast Kansas League All-League Softball Honors Announced

The first softball season for the Northeast Kansas League is in the books and Oskaloosa took home the first League title going undefeated in league play.

Oskaloosa Bears wrapped up their season 23-1 and made the Class 3A State tournament bowing out in the first round after winning the NEKL and a Regional title this season. The Bears had five players earn All-League honors as Haidyn Bassett earned the honors at pitcher, Bree Brooks notched the honors at catcher, while Maddy Miller and Shyan Wright earned the honors at infield and outfield, respectively and Raegen Hamm earned All-League honors at utility. Rachel Harding and Tomi-Lyn Hickman each earned honorable mention All-League honors both at infield.

Both McLouth and Valley Falls had four players earn All-League honors and one player earn honorable mention honors.

McLouth finished the season 17-5 and made the 2-1A State tournament falling in the first round of competition. Shannon Greene earned All-League honors at pitcher, Konner Patterson at infield, Dominque Tullis and Angela Dailey both in the outfield. While, Shannon Brown earned honorable mention honors at infield.

Valley Falls wrapped up their season finishing 14-6 and had four players earn All-League honors as Kacie Herring earned the honors at pitcher, Anna Coleman at infield, Emily Lane at outfield and Josie Nieberger at utility. Paige Hale earned honorable mention honors at infield for the Dragons.

Both Immaculata and Pleasant Ridge each had one player earn All-League honors with a few more earning honorable mention. Katie Gillespie earned All-League at infield for the Raiders, while Kasey Cannon and Maddie Schmuker earned honorable mention honors at pitcher and catcher, respectively. While Ashly Lingenfelser earned All-League for Pleasant Ridge as Alexius Amos, Hailey Worthington and Abby Reed each earned honorable mention at outfield, infield and catcher, respectively.
