Peru State Softball Opens Busy Week With Wins

The Peru State softball team traveled to Hastings College on Sunday and took a pair of non-conference games from the Broncos. 

In the first game, the Bobcats won 3-2. During the second game, Peru State exploded for six runs in the top of the seventh inning after having two outs to win 9-6.

With the two wins, the 'Cats improved to 20-15 overall. Hastings fell to 13-14.

The Bobcats will be back in conference action for their next three double headers with all three being on the road.

On Wednesday, Peru State will travel to Lamoni, Iowa, to face Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) foe Graceland University.    The double header with the Yellowjackets is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.  Presently, Graceland is 6-22 overall and 3-7 in the HAAC. 

Saturday, the Bobcats will be in Canton, Mo., to take on the Wildcats of Culver-Stockton College with the double header scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.   Culver-Stockton is 11-17 overall and 6-6 in the HAAC.

After traveling back home late on Saturday night, Peru State will be heading south to Atchison, Kansas, on Sunday to play Benedictine College.  The double header with the Ravens is scheduled for 1 p.m.  At this time, Benedictine is 10-15 overall and 3-3 in conference play.
