Looking to join the boys in the semifinals on Friday the B&B Falcon girls took to the floor in Hays at Fort Hays State University and as the one seed played the eight seed Attica Bulldogs. It was a grind it out game but the Falcons continued their flight this season behind a 51-35 victory.

Lady Falcons established the lead early but fell behind by three points to Attica in the first quarter before closing out the quarter with a 12-10 lead and never trailed from that point on. Falcons worked the ball inside and dominated the glass outrebounding Attica 31-12 at the half and lead 21-15 at the halfway mark, with Nicole Sudbeck pacing the team with seven points in the first half.

To start the second half Attica opened up a spurt and tied the game but the Falcons responded and regained the lead and lead by five after three quarters of action. The shooting woes for B&B continued but they continued to make the needed plays to help them close the game with an 18-7 fourth quarter to secure their seventh trip to the final four at State in school history.

B&B was led on the night by Kaite Huerter and Cassidy Hulsing who each posted 12 points, while Laura Sudbeck posted a double-double 11 points and 12 rebounds. The Falcons only shot 24-65 from the floor but had 14 assists on their 24 makes and out rebounded Attica 49-25.

With the win the Lady Falcons secured at least a fourth place finish at the 1A-DII State competition in Hays while improving to 22-3 on the season. B&B will play Dighton in the semifinals on Friday at 6:30pm and the game can be heard on 92.1 KMZA, as the boys will play right after the girls against Wallace County.
