Semifinals

#5 Axtell vs. #1 Washington County      (Washington County won 55-34)

For Washington County they were looking to get to their fourth straight TVL tournament championship game, while the upstart Axtell Eagles were looking to continue to turn heads this season. After a tight first quarter it was only a three-point game but that changed in the second frame as Axtell didn't get their first field goal of the quarter until under two minutes left and Washington County put together a 17-5 quarter to lead by 15 at the half. Tigers pounced again out of the half with a 19-8 third quarter and that ultimately put the game out of reach for Axtell, as Washington County won 55-34. Washington County with the win moved to 12-0 on the season and was led by Erin Alexander who posted 22 points. Heidi Stegman and Taylor Powell added double figures with 14 and 10 points, respectively. In the loss Axtell was led by Courtney Heinen who scored eight points and was named Community National Bank "Player to Bank On" on KMZA. With the loss Axtel falls to 9-4 on the season and will play for third place.

The first half was a low scoring affair as both teams traded leads with B&B leading 21-18 at the half after a three-pointer by Laura Sudbeck. The second half Valley Heights started to find a rythmn on offense and see shots fall as they put together a 16-8 third quarter to take the lead and stretch it to double figures in the fourth quarter in the final minutes. Valley Heights improved to 10-1 with the win and was led by Brandi Jo Roepke who posted 18 points, 16 of which came in the second half earning her Community National Bank "Player to Bank On" on KMZA.
