After more than 30 years without a conference affiliation the Auburn Public School District will become a member of the East Central Nebraska Conference beginning with the 2014-15 school year.
Auburn will join Palmyra, Conestoga, East Butler, Elmwood-Murdock, Freeman, Johnson County Central, Louisville, Malcolm, Mead Weeping Water and Yutan making a 12 team conference.
Auburn will be the school with the largest enrollment in the conference, which will include schools that compete in different classes for athletics.
In addition to athletic competition, other activities will be part of the advantage of being in a conference including band, vocal music, one-act play and speech competition.
