Mound City Boys and Nodaway-Holt Girls Champs of Mound City Invitational

All Tournament Selections

 (KLZA) -- The Mound City boys and the Nodaway-Holt girls won the champiosships of the 55th annual Mound City Invitational basketball tournament that concluded over the weekend. 

Friday night Megan Rosenbohm led Nodaway-Holt to a 53-50 win over Mound City for the girls title.  Kalli Devers ( dehv-urs) scored 15 for the Trojans.  

Mound City sophomore Kendey Eaton scored 25 to lead Mound City and Emily Wedlock scored 11.

South Holt was third on the girls side with a 51-44 win over Tarkio.  Emily Cox scored 24 points for the Knights.  McKenzie Prussman socred 14 and Ashley Hunziger scored 13.  Abbey McEnaney had 14 and Kamden Poppa 10 for Tarkio.

In the boys title game Mound City won 48-43.  It was a see-saw battle with 13 lead changes and two ties until Mound City took a one point lead at the end of the third period and then held on for the 5 point win.  

Three Panthers scored 9 points each to lead Mound City.  Hayde marrs, Dylan Honea and Taylor Coker each had 9.  Dayne Messer had 8 and Luke Sanders 7 for Mound City.  Chandler Farmer led Rock Port with 15 and Brady Minter added 10.

West Nodaway took third in the boys division with a 50-49 win over Nodaway-Holt Friday night.    

Following the conclusion of the boys championship game of the Mound City Invitational Tournament Saturday nigh the All-Tournament selections were announced. 

Girls

Megan Rosenbohm – Nodaway-Holt;  Kendey Eaton – Mound City;

Abby McEnaney – Tarkio; Taya Lewis – Rock Port; Emily Wedlock – Mound City;  Kalli Devers – Nodaway-Holt;  McKenzie Prussman  and 

Emily Cox of South Holt.

Boys

Jayden McMahon – Rock Port; Chandler Farmer – Rock Port; Luke Sanders and Hayden Marrs of Mound City; Nick Patterson – Nodaway-Holt and Jaden Gillenwater – West Nodaway.
