Class D-2 top ranked Falls City Sacred Heart will play for a football State Championship at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln Monday against 7th ranked Stuart.

The Irish are undefeated on the year, earning the schools 15th undefeated regular season in Doug Goltz’s 27 years as Head Coach.  Stuart is 11-1 on the season.

Bronco’s Coach Lance Howitt is in his 11th year as the head horseman and brings a small but athletic team to Lincoln to take on the Irish.  They are led by quarterback Alex Kunz who has ran and passed for more than 1,000 yards on the season.

The Irish have 10 seniors this season and Coach Goltz says that is a plus for Sacred Heart.

Sacred Heart has won six state football titles in Goltz’s tenure but have never played for a state title at Memorial Stadium.  He does not think playing in the Huskers home is going to make his team nervous.

You can hear the game live on SUNNY 101.3.   Pre-game coverage begins at 2 p-m with kickoff scheduled for 2:45 p-m.
