In the first year of the Northeast Kansas League, Jefferson County North, Valley Falls and Horton were at the top in the standings. All three schools had four players each on the first ever NEKL All-League list in volleyball.

Jefferson County North had the most first-team members with two as Jamie Navinskey and Jacee Kramer earned first-team honors. Making the second team was Heather Polson and nabbing honorable mention was Kayla Jobbins. JCN finished 37-10 overall with a perfect 16-0 record in the NEKL. The Lady Chargers moved all the way to the Class 2A State Championship matchup, but lost to defending Class 3A champs Hillsboro, a school that moved down this year.

Valley Falls and Horton both tied for most second-team members. For the Lady Dragons, Sydney Gish was placed on the first team while Emily Lane and Jessa Brinker grabbed second-team honors. Callie Watson was also an honorable mention. The Lady Dragons had a solid year, finishing 28-11, winning 13 games in the league and took JCN to three sets in the sub-state championship match.

Horton didn’t have a player on the first team, but the Lady Chargers picked up two second-team members in Allison Becker and Sarah Coversup and two honorable mentions in Amber Wilhelm and Keeley Cowley. The Lady Chargers recorded an 11-5 record in the league and finished 19-15 overall.
