Falls City Sacred Heart Football Team Advances To Semi's
By John Nixon

Top ranked Falls City Sacred Heart beat 4th ranked Humphrey St. Francis 51-30 Tuesday to advance to the semi-finals of the Class D-2 football playoffs.

The Irish are 11-0 on the year.  The Flyers finish the season 9-2.

In the battle of two of Nebraska’s traditional 8-Man powerhouse squads, Irish senior Chaz Dunn led his squat to victory.  Dunn hit 28 of 32 pass attempts for better than 250 yards and two scores in the game.  He also ran for three touchdowns and returned an interception for another score.

Logan Scheitel caught 11 passes, Colin Niemeyer 9 and Austin Malone 6 on the day.  Sawyer Kean topped the century mark on the ground for the Irish.

For Humphrey St. Francis their tailback J.J. Oltmer racked up over 200 yards and four touchdowns on 42 carries in the game.

It was the Irish defense that was the real star of the game.  Despite the big rushing day for Oltmer,  the Flyers offense was held check.

Sacred Heart will now travel to Wynot Monday to take on the Blue Devils in the D2 Semi-finals at 3 p-m.  Pre-game coverage on SUNNY 101.3 will begin at 2:30 p-m.
