Highland Women's Basketball Cruises to 3-0 With Win over St. Mary's JV

The eighth ranked lady Scotties of Highland continued to breeze past their opponents early on the season improving to 3-0 on the season behind an 89-47 win at home over St. Mary's University JV.

Scotties used a balanced attack in the matchup and jumped on St. Mary's early in the game as they established a 52-14 lead at the half and had three players score double figures and four more with six or more points in the contest.

Former Riverside Cyclone, Ashleigh Bristol lead the Scotties off the bench with 19 points on the night, hitting five three-pointers. While Puerto Rico native, Ashley Torres chipped 19 points herself on 7-11 shooting and added eight rebounds. Sophomore, Julia Avles from Brazil was the lone other gal to net double figures on the night posting 12 points and a double-double with 10 rebounds.

Krystal Corhn chipped in nine points, while Anna Deegan added eight and India Johnson and Shamirah Johnson each posted six points.

The Scotties have blown by the competition early on this season and will hit the court again on Saturday when they host Cowley Community College at 2:00pm.
