Highland Scotties continue to show they are a program on the upswing as they notched their fifth win of the season beating Garden City 20-17 on the road.
Highland struck first in the game with a strip fumble recovery that was taken 30-yards for a defensive score to take it 7-0, Garden City answered a bit later with a field goal to make it 7-3. Scotties answered with Brandon Peters who scored a 15-yard touchdown for Highland to make it a 14-3 game at the half.
Garden City responded after halftime scoring the next two scores both touchdowns to take a 17-14 lead. The Scotties weren't rattled as they tied it up with 5:08 left in the third quarter behind a Josh Pasley 38-yard field goal. Pasley came up big in the fourth quarter too for the Scotties putting another through the uprights to give Highland the 20-17 lead and ultimate road win.
Scotties are now 5-3 on the season and 4-2 in the KJCCC and have won two in a row for the second time this season. Highland has the bye week next Saturday before wrapping up the regular season with a home game against Independence on Saturday October 26th.
