(KTNC) - The Falls City Tigers came out of the gate throwing the football at Fairbury Friday night.  The Tigers' first play from scrimmage was an incomplete pass.  That would be the only pass attempt for Falls City the entire night.  Falls City went three and out on their opening possession.

The defense then held after Fairbury drove to the Tigers' 40 yard line on their first possession, forcing a punt.  Falls City took over on their 20 yard line and it took all of five plays for Falls City to find the end zone, on a 52 yard Jordan Stoller run, with 3:52 remaining in the first quarter.  Stoller added another touchdown run, covering 16 yards, later in the first quarter and Falls City led 16-0 after one.

The Tigers added three more rushing touchdowns in the second quarter.  Brenden Heckenlively scored on an 8-yard run with 9:45 left in the quarter, Mitchell Harling scored from 32 yards out with 6:31 left in the half, and Stoller added his third touchdown on a 14 yard run 51 seconds before halftime.  Falls City led 35-0 after two quarters.

With the 35 point lead, the entire second half was played with a running clock.  Falls City scored one touchdown in the third quarter, with Jackson Hartman carrying the ball 20 yards to paydirt.  Cody Schawang scored the Tigers' final touchdown on a one-yard run with 4:04 left in the game.

Fairbury scored its only touchdown with 3:14 left in the game on a 63 yard run by senior running back Tyler Theye, as Falls City went on to win the game, 49-8.

For the game, Falls City rushed the ball 48 times for 422 yards.  Eleven different players had at least one carry and no one had more than seven.  Stoller finished with 89 yards on just four carries with three of them going for touchdowns.  Tyler DiGiacomo had seven carries for 86  yards, and Hartman also had seven carries for 56 yards.  Harling had 67 yards on five carries.  Also getting in on the Falls City running parade were Jeremy Waggoner, Jeremy Robinson, Bradly Rose, Weston Witt, Brenden Heckenlively, Cody Schawang, and Preston Deckinger.

Theye led Fairbury with 127 yards rushing on 22 carries.  Nearly half those yard came on his final carry of the night, the 63 yard touchdown run.  Quarterback Dalton Hinrichs completed four of 10 passes for 45 yards, with one interception.  Falls City held Fairbury to a net of 153 total yards in the game.

The win gives Falls City a 4-2 record, while Fairbury falls to 1-5.  Falls City plays its homecoming game Friday night against the Auburn Bulldogs.
