(AP) - Redshirt freshman Tommy Armstrong Junior will make his third straight start at quarterback in place of the injured Taylor Martinez when Nebraska visits Purdue on Saturday.
Coach Bo Pelini said Thursday night that Martinez had not recovered enough from a turf-toe injury on his left foot that has bothered him since mid-September.
Pelini said fifth-year senior Ron Kellogg the Third also would take some snaps against the Boilermakers.
Armstrong has led the Cornhuskers to wins over South Dakota State and Illinois, completing a combined 20 of 28 passes for 304 yards and three touchdowns. He hasn't committed a turnover.
