Rams continue strong season performance at Pleasant Ridge Invitational

Bigger schools like Basehor-Linwood and Tonganoxie saw great success, but Pleasant Ridge continued to have runners place in the top five.

In boys competition, Tony Weber notched another victory finishing ahead of the pack with a time of 16:57.02. Tyler Darrow also helped the Rams finishing 14th (19:35.13) and Gabe Younger placed 16th (19:45.25) to give the Rams a third place finish. Other top area performers include JCN’s Brysen Weishaar, who finished 13th (19:19.28), while Atchison’s Justin Whitmer finished 18th (19:48.27), JCN’s Ty Brickell placed 20th (19:50.55) and McLouth’s Ryan Bristol placed 21st (19:51.23).
 
On the girls side, Sarah Jaloma of Atchison High continued to improve with a first place finish with a time of 16:14.18. Pleasant Ridge’s Kristina Silvers wasn’t far behind placing second (16:50.30). Hailey Worthington’s 10th place finish (17:43.65) and Carly Simonis’ 19th place finish (18:37.74) gave the Lady Rams a third place finish as a team.
 
Carissa McAfee of Jefferson County North led the way for the Lady Chargers. Teammates Laramie Leakey (17:58.85) and Julie Schrick (18:38.45) placed 11th and 20th respectively. Helping Jaloma for Atchison were Lyndi Hanson placing 16th (18:23.66) and Lucy Newkirk finishing 18th (18:33.72).
