Another full slate of volleyball action in the area on Tuesday night and in the Twin Valley League all the teams were squaring off many in triangulars, expect for the Axtell Eagles and Frankfort Wildcats who were dueling it out on the court against each other in a dual matchup, featured on KMZA.

At the end the of the night it was the Axtell Eagles avenging a pair of loses to Frankfort from earlier this season, earning a 2-0 evening on the road against the Wildcats in what was an action packed balanced two matches.

In match one of the night, the Eagles pushed to a three set win over the Wildcats 16-25, 25-23 and 25-17. Frankfort after falling behind to start set one took control midway through the set a stretch run of eight straight points, then migrated their lead to a 10-point advantage and behind the plays of Kyla Hardwick took set one 25-16. Set two started with the Eagles notching the first point again but both traded points back and forth until Axtell had 7-0 stretch to set up set point at 24-17, but the Wildcats wouldn't go quietly in the set as they rallied with six straight points to move the score 24-23, but the Eagles responded and Kiersten Talbot tallied the finally point of the sets for Axtell to take it 25-23. The Eagles then utilized a stretch run and a handful of lift calls against Frankfort in the third set to capture it 25-17 and take the match.

Second match of the night was much of the same between the two teams as each team traded blows back and forth for a majority of each set. Set one went down to the wire with neither team taking firm control until Axtell closed it out winning it 25-20, behind a trio of service aces by Ashley Buessing and Bethany Porting tallying the last point. In set two the momentum shifted back and forth multi-times, all starting with Axtell's 5-0 run to start the match. Frankfort quickly responded with a 6-0 run of their own to get right back into the match. The Eagles ultimately closed it out with the momentum taking the set 25-21 and winning the match in straight sets. Ashley Joseph highlighted the second matchup for Frankfort with aggressive plays upfront.

With the 2-0 night the Eagles improved to 8-12 on the season and 4-5 in TVL play (only first game counted as league match). With the losses the Wildcats fell to 9-11 overall and 4-5 in TVL action. Both teams gear up for tournament action this coming weekend as Axtell will hit the court in the Valley Falls Invite and Frankfort will participate in the Onaga Invite.
