(KTNC) - It took the Fall City offense a while to get on track against Lincoln Lutheran Friday night.  When it did get going, it was more of a bullet train than freight train.  The Tigers scored nine touchdowns in less than two quarters of game time, and piled up 526 rushing yards, in a 58-21 victory over the Warriors.

Lincoln Lutheran got out to the early lead on a Josh Leymaster 46 yard touchdown run midway through the first quarter.  The Tigers got on the board with 1:57 left in the first on a Mitchell Harling 13 yard run.  It was the first of three touchdown runs for Harling, and was set up by a 63 yard run by Jordy Stoller.  The two-point conversion attempt was no good, and the Warriors led 7-6 at the end of the first quarter.

That lead would not last long.  Falls City got touchdown runs from Brenden Heckenlively, Harling, and Stoller to take a 26-7 lead with 2:10 left in the second quarter.  The teams finished the first half with an offensive flourish.

The Warriors got on the board again when quarterback Elijah Kouma hit running back Ben Schmeling on a screen pass and Schmeling sprinted 65 yards for the TD with 1:55 left in the half.  The Tigers answered quickly when Ryan Mount connected with Jack Hartman on a 42 yard touchdown pass just 30 seconds later. That would be the only completed pass in the game for Falls City.  Lincoln Lutheran scored again on the ensuing kick-off, when Schmeling picked up the ball near the 10 yard line and raced 90 yards for the touchdown with 1:08 to go in the first half.  That was more than enough time for Falls City to strike again.  After an incomplete pass, Stoller found a seam in the defense and sprinted 69 yards to paydirt with 40 seconds left in the second quarter.  Falls City led 38-21 at halftime.

The Tigers put the game out of reach in the third quarter.  The defense stymied the Lincoln Lutheran offense while the Tigers added three more touchdowns on runs by Heckenlively, Stoller, and Harling.  Harling's 15 yard touchdown run with 3:57 remaining in the third quarter gave the Tigers a 58-21 lead and set the running clock in motion for the remainder of the game.

Stoller led Falls City's ground attack with 264 yards rushing and three touchdowns on just 11 carries.  Harling finished with 154 yards and three touchdowns on 14 carries, and Heckenlively rushed for 55 yards with two touchdowns.

The win is the third consecutive victory for Falls City, which improves to 3-1 on the season and 1-0 in district play.  The Tigers face a tough test Friday when they host Syracuse.  The Rockets are 4-0 after a 53-7 win over Sandy Creek Friday night.
